Lorne Warren Biography
Lorne Warren was born in 1954 in a tiny community of Fox Island on the south coast of Newfoundland. The community was resettled and Lorne at the age of 1, moved to Isle Aux Morts on the South-west coast of Newfoundland. He graduated, with B.A. B.Ed degrees, with a major in Mathematics, from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1975. He started teaching at Cow Head, Newfoundland in the fall of 1975. From there, he became an Advanced Math High School Teacher , which led him to the field of Distance Education. After 32 years, he retired from the teaching profession in June of 2007.
Lorne took an active part in volunteering for High School Athletic teams which earned him several provincial championships as well as several provincial awards in recognition of his volunteer work.
In 1993, Lorne set up a computer based company, “Northern Peninsula Computers & Support”, whose objective is to sell and service computer systems and peripherals, as well as provide a Support Service in the field of computers to the area.
In 1998, Lorne helped form the computer company, NetCreations Inc. This is a web design and web hosting computer company. At present, NetCreations has designed and host approximately 40 websites. NetCreations is the present owner of www.grosmorne.ca.
It was through these companies that Lorne Warren met Ted Miller. Through computer servicing and later a direct involvement in the design and hosting of several of Ted's projects, including the e-book, "Wildegeest - A Search For Last Places". In this book, Ted tells, through a lifelong story, the encounters of people as they passed through life, and the trials of later life as he searches for his last places. A second project of Ted's was his recognition of his "Best Friend Dog" Through Ted’s goal in life, to add to people’s fruitful lives as they grow older, arose the idea of the Live Seed Diet Farm.
